「The Renew」

I recently shot Haruki Mizuno in her newest film entitled "Renew." She began her career in AV at the age of 18 in 1997. She then continued making a number of films only to stop 6 months later. Then in 1999, we saw her return for another year until her next hiatus in the year 2000. And now in 2002, she has wandered back with her first film since her last parting in 2000. She was always cheerful upon meeting, but she had me waiting 1 1/2 hours for her arrival at the first interview, and she was even 2 hours late for the second interview. I began to wonder if she really had the heart to do the film or not.

So now at age 22, has she changed sexually? What type of woman is she? Wanting to change from her "cute" image of the past, she is searching for a new identity as an actress. Thus, that has become the theme of this particular film.

The movie opens with Haruki and an actor she first co-starred with in her debut film. She hadn't acted with him since. She seemed to be a bit apprehensive at the start of the shooting, not really looking forward to the scene or the sex. But she soon became quite wet, leaving herself with stained pants. She really can be lewd at times. Compared to other AV girls, Haruki can be quite different. Others are quite ambitious, saying "I will do my best!", or "I feel confident!" Most men desire a woman more like Haruki though I think. She can get pretty casual when she drinks. "Before I would choose guys more near my age, but I prefer a more mature guy these days." I was surprised to hear she usually goes to a love hotel when she with her lovers, rather than a classier establishment. "I like to have sex at least one or twice during a rest at a love hotel. I hardly ever use a condom, letting them come inside me. I guess I don't give it much thought." During the interview she said, "I think I would like to change my image from the cute, shy girl of the past. Maybe I would like to try being more of a bitch, more hard core. I felt uncomfortable with that look of the past." I think she has changed over the years, growing out of the little girl she once was. She also said calmly, " I don't like the idea of having an interview in entertainment district, It does't have a good image." Anyway, she was willing to include a rape scene for the last scene, although it was only light-rape play. I had never seen her as happy as when she realized the shooting was over before she knew it. I have no idea when she will discontinue making her films again.
