American's View to Japanese Porno

This report is the mail i recipt from an American audience. I understood well the difference from American and Japanese. How do you feel about it?

Introduction
The following are my impressions of Japanese AV and some of the differences between Western Porn and Japanese AV. Being an American, my views on typical and ÔpopularÕ may be significantly different in some areas than Europeans and Latinos (people from Mexico and South America). I will try to point out any typically American point of view. Of course my views may differ a bit from typical American also, but I would expect that my views are close to average.

Of course the comments will be generalizations of the AV films I have seen. Specific directors, companies or companies may specialize in films that are different to what I have seen.

The Women
The women in Japanese AV differ significantly from the western (American) porn film. While the western Ôporn starÕ has a very extreme figure (very large beasts, small waist, big hips), the Japanese AV actress appears much more like an average woman. That is not to say less attractive, rather she will typically fall into one of two categories. - Nice Figure with Average to Slightly Large Breasts - Rather Plump with Large Breasts

I would assume this is due to the typical Asian physiology and that finding a woman with western Ôporn starÕ body is difficult. It could also be that Asian women with such types of builds, prefer to not work in Japanese AV or are unpopular in Japan. Of course nearly all of the western porn stars have had their breasts ÔenhancedÕ with implants.

The attitude of the women is also very different. While the western porn star gives off a very strong signal that she wants sex Ð and wants it NOW, the Japanese AV actress does not seem to give much indication of a strong desire for sex and her main reactions showing interest are shortly before or during sex.

Asking which type of girl I would prefer to get friendly with, it would depend. If I were very horny I expect I would want the western porn star as she seems more eager to scratch anywhere I itch, and might scratch a few place I donÕt itch. In a calmer mood, I think I would prefer the Japanese AV star as she seems more like a normal person. My lack of knowledge of Japanese might be influencing me as I can not understand what they are saying and there is the chance that their comments are not very interesting. But whatever they are saying, they have such a cute way of saying it that it is nearly impossible not to think positively about it.

The Men
Similar to western porn, the men are not much the focus of attention. Similar to the women in Japanese AV, the men appear more natural and typical Ð more like the guy next door. This is particularly true during scenes where they are not wearing clothes and length is apparent. Obviously I have not directly measured this, but that is the way it appears to me. The men in western porn often appear to be rather low class while Japanese AV men again do not really make much impression either way. Maybe if I understood Japanese culture very well, I would pickup signs that they are not average types.

Frankly I donÕt care much either way as I am typically drooling at the women.

The Sex The difference in Sex is more than one might expect. Rape or even forced sex is quite taboo in the West (very much so in America) and is rarely found. I would say that forced sex in general is rather unpopular in the west. The women are expected to want sex and be rather aggressive in seeking it out. In the Japanese AV forced sex is quite common often with groups of men. This would be very uncommon in western porn. Also the woman does not seem to enjoy the experience much and rather acts as if it is as enjoyable as getting dental work without anesthesia.

The Japanese AV is censored somewhat with the genital contact area blurred. In western porn the face was sometimes blurred in the old days to protect the womanÕs identity but this is unusual today.

The completion of the sex scene is also a bit different. In the west the man will typically pull out and stimulate himself until he comes on the girl. Japanese AV also includes the man stimulating himself, but he will typically aim for the face or will come in her mouth which she will let slowly out of her mouth. Some times the woman will have several men come on her face in what I understand is called bukake. I have never seen this in western porn and I believe it would not be popular.

I am not much interested in the forced sex scenes and prefer the women to be enthusiastic for the sex. The censoring does not much detract from the excitement for me. To me the actual contact and penetration seems less important than the general condition of the woman. Often anticipation is a key part of excitement and I wonder if any directors use blurring as a tool, by positioning the blurred area in such a way that it looks like the contact area will move just outside the blurred area and become visible at any moment, only to be cut to a different angle.

As for the sex completion scene I favor the western style, as western men (and likely women to) look to have a mutual happy endingÕ and the woman is likely to be more comfortable with semen on her body than on her face or in her mouth. The ÔbukakeÕ facial does not look fun and as with the facial thing, does not generate much excitement with me.

The Story
The story in the typical western porn film follows a rather predicable pattern of
- Boy meets Girl(s)
- Boy has sex with Girl(s)
- Girl(s) has sex with other Girl(s)
- Boy has more sex with Girl(s) or other Girl(s)
- End

The Japanese AV story has a number of different elements in it, sometimes including the following
- Interview with the actress
- Girl posing outdoors
- Conversation between director and actress
- Actress doing some type of small activity (origami, flower arrangement, etc.)
- Cast dinner with toasts

Of course there is sex included as well as part of a small story.

For me the story is not often interesting so it does seem a waste of time between girls getting friendly. I admit that Ôsex onlyÕ tapes lack a certain rhythm and are too much of a good thing. Of the two styles, I would say that I prefer the Japanese AV as showing the girls a people makes it a bit easier to relate to them. Too long a break between sex scenes though temps me to use the fast forward.

Setting
The typical setting in the western porn film seems to be someoneÕs back yard. Any scene with an office or restaurant is typically very fake looking. The Japanese AV settings seem more real as if they are able to film in actual offices, stores, vacation places, etc. I feel the real setting adds a bit to the entertainment as it gives a bit of realistic effect to the sex.

Bondage
Bondage in general in the west is not very popular. In going to an adult video store in the US, one would typically find a few bondage tapes, but not very many and leather seems to be the main attraction. Japanese AV seems to have a lot of bondage centered around rope.

I am not much interested in tying women up or watching other people tie women up. I must say though that the men who tie the women up really seem to know rope and knots. The knots they tie are very complex and would likely require a lot of experience to do well. I think most western men would respect the rope expertise and the attractive women, but the two do not combine so well in the western view. A seminar by the rope guy might be interesting.

Very Young Girls
Very young (under 17) girls are very much taboo in the west and highly illegal though there are of course a few men who prefer such. I would bet even if it were not illegal, it would still not be very popular.
